Dublin Castle

Dublin Castle is located in the heart of Dublin on Dame Street, easily accessible by public transport or walking from the hotel. One of the most important buildings in Irish history, the castle was originally built as a medieval fortress the building was damaged badly by fire in 1684. Following the fire, the castle was rebuilt and transformed into a Georgian palace, this is the building that you visit today.

Today you can visit the state apartments, the Viking excavation and the chapel royal as well as enjoying a stroll around the grounds of the castle. To visit these areas of the castle you must take a guided tour which last 60 minutes, however you can access the state apartment and exhibitions on a self-guided tour.

There are also a number of exhibitions that take place throughout the year at the castle with a range of artefacts being put on display.
