If you’re attending an event at the RDS and you are looking for a Dublin hotel near the venue, look no further than The Spencer Hotel in Dublin.

The RDS in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 hosts amazing events every so often in relation to popular topics and Irish culture. It is Ireland's Philanthropic Society that focuses on promoting the well-being of the Irish population and supporting the Irish economy, landscape, careers and talent. This can range from supporting Irish farms and produce, ensuring there is a supportive system in place, encouraging Irish entrepreneurship, and backing careers in artistic fields by showcasing talent with events such as The Dublin Horse Show.

Getting to the RDS from The Spencer

Just over a 20 minute drive from the RDS, The Spencer will serve as the perfect place for you to stay. Alternative routes of transport include a 25 minute ride on the Dart or a 30 minute ride on the bus. The RDS is serviced by bus routes number 4, 7, 5 and 45, which stop outside the Main Hall Entrance to the RDS on the Merrion Road. These bus services can be availed of on Nassau Street outside Trinity College which is a 20 minute walk from the Spencer Hotel.  You can travel to the RDS by Dart: Dublin DART service operates from the City Centre to Ballsbridge. Travel southbound to Lansdowne or Sandymount stations. All Dart services leave from Connolly station, just a 5 minute walk from the Spencer Hotel Dublin. If you prefer to walk to the RDS from The Spencer, the journey would take just over 30 minutes.

Before your show, enjoy a fine dining Asian fusion experience at East Restaurant. We have some light bites if you are interested of sampling a few of our dishes or if you would prefer just a light snack. The Spencer Hotel also serves as a superb spot to unwind after your show. You can chill in our relaxed open plan spaces by our magma fireplace on a snug, comfy sofa with one of our signature cocktails from The Spencer Cocktail Bar.

The RDS is definitely well worth a visit if you’re visiting Dublin to experience a bit of Irish culture or simply just to have a bit of craic at one of their shows or fairs!
