Things to do in Dublin with kids

There’s no better place than Dublin to take the family on a break. Spend some quality time with your little ones this summer and enjoy all this fair city has to offer! Rain, hail or (hopefully) sunshine Dublin has a whole host of activities to keep all the family entertained and ensure everyone is happy. Read on to see some of the best family activities in Dublin.

Phoenix Park is one of the best places to pack up and take the kids to for the day. Take a stroll through the park and try spot some deer, or better yet President Michael D Higgins, as his residence is in the park! You can also visit Farmleigh House, originally owned be the Guinness family, this wonderful house is now a working government building but you can visit by guided tour and learn all about the history of the house. A trip to Phoenix Park is not complete without a visit to Dublin Zoo. Dublin is home to many exotic creatures and works hard on conservation programmes to help protected species. A trip to the zoo is well worthwhile.

Looking for a fun way to see the city without tiring your little one’s feet out? Look no further than the Viking Splash tour. A mixture of land and water tour, you will take all of Dublin’s main sites before making a splash into the water where you will enjoy further sights that Dublin has to offer. Immerse yourself in true Viking fashion, don your hat and get your roar ready as you take to the street of Dublin to learn all about the history of the city.

Let your imagination run wild as you step inside the Leprechaun museum located in the heart of Dublin city. Listen to stories of Irish folklore and mythology all about the magical men in green. Hop on the Luas and take a trip out to Imaginosity where your kids can let their imagination run wild. Ireland’s only interactive children’s museum is dedicated to kids under 9. Spaced over three floors, kids are given the chance to try out many different things from being a chef or doctor, to drawing or playing in a theatre as well have some fun in the eco garden. The whole family will be tired out after an action pack day here!

The Ark is a dedicated cultural centre for kids in Temple bar. With different events taking place throughout the year, you are always guaranteed to find something unique and different to enjoy with your kids here. From baby raves to exhibitions and plays, there is something on to suit kids of all ages and ensure all the family has fun.

For the time when you really don’t want to leave the hotel take a splash in the pool, something the whole family can enjoy. With an 18m heated pool suitable for all levels, as well as a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi for the adults to enjoy, the Spencer Health club is the perfect place to enjoy  a few hours.
