Bord Gais Energy

The Bord Gais Energy Theatre has become one of Dublin and Ireland’s most recent pinnacles. The theatre came about due to a rising demand for a location to facilitate large scale productions from musicals, drama and operas. In 2001 a vision was brought to life by the support of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority and a combination of Architectural genius that would make it one of Ireland’s most iconic buildings situated in Dublin’s Docklands.

Now over 500,000 visitors attend the Bord Gais theatre every year. It has facilitated world class acts such as “Wicked” the musical, “Billy Elliot” and everything else from the “Rocky Horror Show” to “Swan Lake” to “Sister Act”, there is a wide variety of productions to suit all tastes.

Guests and visitors alike can enjoy East Restaurant, indulge in an early bird and a glass of wine at The Spencer Hotel Dublin which is located within walking distance of The Bord Gais Energy Theatre. Or if you prefer, attend the act at the Bord Gais theatre and walk over to the hotel afterwards to enjoy a few cocktails. The Spencer Hotel has been redesigned and boasts unique, innovative style, secure underground car-parking and pre theatre menus in the restaurant.

An outstanding addition to Ireland’s Theatre world and designed by world renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, the Bord Gais Energy theatre (formerly The Grand Canal Theatre) presents the best of National and International Theatre, Musicals, Drama, Opera, Ballet, Family Shows & Classical Concerts and will have the facility to accommodate world class West End and Broadway productions for the first time in Ireland.
